| Surrounding Islets
A 45-minute ride in a long-tail boat, takes you to at least 14 islets and rock
formations in Aow Naang Bay area. Each place has at least one dive site and a
large number of tropical fish. It is possible to experience a night dive. The
King Cruiser Wreck The ferry sank on 4th May 1997 after hitting Anemone
reef on the way to Phi Phi. It now lays 32m under water creating a fantastic wreck
dive. Mu Koh Hong A 15 minute ride by a long-tail boat trip to
the nearest Mu Koh Hong for shallow or deep diving. The most popular sites are
Koh Hong, Koh Tub (Paradise Island) and Pakbia Island. Bida Nai and Bida
Nok These two dive sites are in the south of Phi Phi Lay. Hard and soft
coral and an abundance of marine life such as leopard sharks, turtles, moray eels,
whale sharks and manta rays. Bida Nok offers snorkeling on one side of the island
and scuba diving (dropping to 30 m) on the other. Phi Phi Islands (Phi
Phi Don and Phi Phi Lay) Diver's paradise with dive sites between 10m
and 30m with a visibility of 15m-25m. Several cave dives and many wall dives,
hard and soft corals and an abundant marine life: white tip sharks, stingrays
and moray eels. Phi Phi Shark Point Shark Point or Hin Musang
is a group of 3-pinnacle rock formations home to shoals of colorful Reef-Fish,
multi-colored Plume Worms and more. The rock breaks the surface and attracts a
lot of Leopard Sharks. Around Feb. and Mar. keep a lookout for whale sharks. |
