Mu Koh Hong
These stunning islands have soaring limestone
formations and coral reefs. A popular destination
for
environmentally friendly sea canoe trips.
Close to Krabi. Journey time: about one
hour.
Mu Koh Lanta National Park
A marine national park with dozens of 55
islands many of which are fringed by beautiful
coral reefs. Koh
Lanta Yai, the main island, is also home
of the 'Chao Le' or sea gypsies, an ethnic
community who still
maintain their traditional ways. Admission
to Mu Koh Lanta National Park is THB200
for adults and THB100 for children. Take
a tour or travel to Koh Lanta Yai by boat
from Krabi Town (Nov - April) From May -
Oct local buses connect with a ferry service
further down the coast. The journey takes
two and a half hours.
Phi Phi Islands
The location for many films, the Phi Phi
Islands have it all. Two islands with beautiful
powder sand beaches, limestone cliffs, coral
reefs and even caves with ancient paintings
and swallows nest. Tours leave daily.
